La Forme – Let Jenny Sleep (single review)

Some artists are everywhere, a seemingly perpetual presence at every turn on social media. And that’s fine, it’s a dog eat dog world out there, everyone clambering over everyone else for hits ‘n’ views and the attention of an audience being increasingly swayed away by streaming services, podcasts and taking endless selfies with filters that ensure they no longer look like themselves.

Then there’s Newport electronica band “La Forme”, who always seem to fly slightly under the radar, but continually come up with the goods, this time in the form of this gleamy, dreamy bass driven synth pop tune.

“Let Jenny Sleep” is a slight departure from the La Forme we’ve become accustomed to. Yes it’s heavily 80s synth pop inspired, but the band, by their own admission, have made a conscious effort to write with a positive mindset. The idea for the song came from a heart-warming true life classroom tale straight from the Stuart Murdoch school of reminiscence and it’s an absolute delight!

“Let Jenny Sleep” was released February 23rd. Click here to listen to it on Bandcamp, where you can pay for the song however much you want. You don’t have to pay for it, but it would be nice if you did. Give them a follow on Twitter and Facebook for more news!
